COLOURING CONTEST TIME!!! - UPDATE

CONTEST TIME IS HERE!!

So, here's the scoop:

In my flurry of getting some new prints ready for the 2015 Comic Con season, I've got one piece with no one to colour it.  I figured, why not turn it into a contest, offer some swag as a prize and see what happens?  My last poll suggested that there may be some interest in it, thus, here we are.  This contest is exclusive to deviantArt members only.


THE CONTEST:

To colour the following piece:



You may use whatever medium you choose for this, and do so to the best of your ability.  I am expecting most to be done digitally, but if I do get some traditionally done colours, I may choose to have two separate prize packs.

Email me at:  grumpyfatfury@yahoo.ca  to receive the high-res file for this pic; I have both a high-res TIFF and JPEG for those that care about file types.  Please request the piece, and specify the file type you prefer.


CONTEST DATES:

Begins:  February 1st, 2015

Ends:  February 14th, 2015

Winner to be chosen no later than:  February 21st, 2015

I'm actually posting this a little bit earlier than I intended, but it won't change the timeframe.  That gives you just over two full weeks to come up with your entry(s).


WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:

1. The finished piece must be reproducible as a print.
2. I'm looking for a very "Mignola-esque" look to this print.  Most of Mike's stuff tends to be on the flatter side of things, but feel free to do what you think works.

CONTEST RULES:

1. You MUST use the art provided to you by myself
2. You may NOT change any aspect of the art; you are colouring what is on the page.
3. You may submit multiple pieces if you wish
4. You MUST include ALL artists involved when displaying your piece anywhere.  We all worked hard, we all deserve credit.

SUBMISSIONS:

The easiest way to submit, is to upload your finished HIGH-RES image to your Stash; from there, just send me the link so I can download it.  Other ways are possible, ie: email, We Transfer, Dropbox, etc, but I want the highest res image possible.  As long as it's high-res, just make sure it gets to me!

WINNER VOTING:

The winner will be chosen by myself.  The winner will be the artist that most closely attains what I have the final coloured piece envisioned as.  Same applies to the Runner-Up(s).

I will be posting pics of ALL of those whom contribute in a future journal.

WINNER PRIZE PACKS:

The Grand Prize winner receives:

• The ORIGINAL inked page of art for this contest
• A complete set of 2014 Con prints signed by myself
• A copy of the OGN Deadly Harvest (for which I provided inks) signed by both myself, and my assistant Kellie

The Runner-Up receives:

• A complete set of 2014 Con prints signed by myself

If, by chance, there are both digitally coloured AND traditionally coloured pieces submitted, I will have one Grand Prize winner for the overall contest, and will have one Runner-Up for both digital colours, and traditional colours.  The prize pack for the Runner-Ups for both digital and traditional would be the same.
